Caribbean Vacation Family Style {from st john with love and the delicious fatty crab island style}

What a wonderful vacation. I returned to New York City yesterday after my much anticipated family vacation to Saint John in the US Virgin Islands. The weather was beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious. Already back to the normal routine, but still reminiscing of this great trip. One of the (definite) highlights was dining at The Fatty Crab. We enjoyed brunch and TWO dinners there. So you know it was good. Menu is listed below. We tried basically everything. The “Yellow Curry Chicken” was among the favorites. Apparently it’s on the menu at the West Village location. See ya there!

Vanessa Seward x A.P.C. Collaboration {the beautiful garments and fabulous launch party at A.P.C. west fourth}

I am absolutely in love with every garment in the A.P.C. x Vanessa Seward capsule collaboration. Vanessa Seward, the former creative director for Azzaro, has teamed up with A.P.C. in this fabulously girly and sophisticated collaboration. There are floral dresses, a little golden brocade and definitely a bit of Beyoncé style glitter. The price tag is not generous, but I promise you it is worth it. The collection launched in New York this past Tuesday at the A.P.C. West Fourth Street store (where I work). The party was a huge success. Please come by to check out the pieces. P.S. Who’s the cutie in the pictures below? (

Thank you to Zack Repko for the images)

New West Village Favorites {yoya for babes and youngins & cafe cluny for french yum}

I came across Yoya in the West Village just this past weekend. A co-worker told me it was great and that I needed to check it out. Well, I am glad she did. While in actuality it is a store for babies and mommies, they also have bad ass jewelry and super cool accessories (GREAT scarves). Yes, you can find the perfect children’s gift in this store, but they have much more to offer. Please check it out. It’s at 636 Hudson Street. Now for grub talk. Cafe Cluny is it. On West 4th Street and West 12th Street you can find authentic, high quality and highly delicious French food. I had the curried chicken salad wrap. Not my typical lunch choice, but dang it was good. The chicken was tender and had a fantastic balance of curry, almonds and cranberries. The wrap was light and flakey and the side of zucchini fries was a nice touch. It helps that the atmosphere was inviting and quite frankly, beautiful.

What I Wore {to the a.p.c. west fourth grand opening party}

Last night was the grand opening party for the new A.P.C. store in the West Village on West Fourth and Perry Street. AKA my place of work. What was my attire for the event? Current collection A.P.C., obviously. I wore the traditional A.P.C. raw denim mini skirt, tan heeled penny loafers, a navy merino wool cardigan and a beautiful gold silk paisley top. It was quite a look. The party had a fantastic turn out, the store was jammed! Definitely a night to remember.

The Fashion Coloring Book {adulterated adolescence from bookmarc}

My Easter was made when I stopped into the BookMarc Store after work yesterday. It was my dream come true. A coloring book for grown ups, fashion style. For $12.99 I can color Celine, A.P.C., Marant (and more) to my hearts content. The book is super cute. It has a fantastic cover, shown above, and only the best designs to fill in. You will have hours of fun with this one. I’m off to buy markers as we speak. Don’t expect to hear from me for a while.

New York Fashion Week Wraps Up {proenza schouler, anna sui, the row & marc jacobs are striking, but what else? looking forward to the paris shows}

New York Fashion Week wraps up. My last two favorites? Proenza’s “evolutionary” show and Anna Sui’s all around cool collection. To be honest, I am excited about what’s to come. Paris Fashion Week is always my favorite and it is around the corner. Be sure to check back for more constant updates on that one. As a whole I was not too impressed with the collections shown this season. The Row was beautiful, Marc Jacobs was crazy and the rest weren’t memorable. Sorry to say it.

P.S., More legit photos below of the new A.P.C. West Village location. No the wood is facade is not permanent. Yes, it looks fantastic for the time being. Not to worry.

Perfect Dinner at Lucky Strike and the New A.P.C. Store Finally Opens {the family french cuisine & the fantastic opening}

Finally, the much anticipated W 4th A.P.C. store has (softly) opened. While all architectural things are not set, the store is fully functioning and open for business. It looks fantastic. You must come and check it out. And I work there, so there. We will have our grand opening at the end of April. The spring merchandise could not look better and the location is awesome. After our first full day open, I joined my family at Lucky Strike on Grand Street for dinner. It was delicious. I had the Tuna Niçoise. It is highly recommended. The Croque Monsieur and Steak dishes were equally impressive.
