While I am somewhat blown away by the thought of Fall, I am also extremely excited. As we received our Fall products at A.P.C. nearly one month ago, Autumn has been on my mind. I decided to put together a few Pre-Fall looks to stir a bit of excitement, while not diving in too fast. I snagged these (sweet) camo pants by Current/Elliott last week. Guaranteed they will be sold out in every store by next month. They have a fantastic fit. Plus, who doesn’t love a nice pair of camo pants? The E. Porselli A.P.C. flats should be familiar to you avid readers. The brown leather bag above will be a new addition to my wardrobe. Another great A.P.C. piece. Are you surprised? The top is a simple Isabel one. Second outfit up is on the sweeter side. Chic The Row cate eye sunglasses paired with this lovely silk A.P.C. ruffle dress and the Isabel Marant bad ass Jenny boots. I’m psyched!
Both fortunately and unfortunately I found myself shopping on the Internet during the wee hours of the night last week (yes, late, after I had gone out). Luckily enough, I found and scored this beautiful old Isabel Marant stars and stripes dress. I am kind of obsessed. It’s 100% silk, it has ruffles and it’s comfortable. Oh, did I mention it’s Isabel Marant? What more could a girl ask for. To be honest, it’s a nice change of pace from this seasons loud and in your face tie dyes and varsity numbers, and it’s all mine. Can’t wait for the weather to change (again) into hot and steamy days for this frock. Summer, come back!
These Isabel Marant dip dyed pieces are festive, bright and fun. The pants and shorts are a bit too much for me, but I absolutely love the sweatshirt and shirt dress. The colors are just minimal enough for a dip die. I ordered the dress from Netaporter and almost bought the sweatshirt at Bergdorfs yesterday. I’m obsessed. These pieces are really getting me in the spring/summer spirit. I’m also a huge fan of these scarves below. The gold silk one on the left is A.P.C., of course. The paisley print is a perfect pairing with the luxe gold silk. The Missoni headband is a true classic and a really great way to defeat the heat. While somewhat impractical, I love these Oscar de la Renta earrings. They are 24 k gold with colored enamel. All items are available on Netaporter. Scoop them up.
I’ve known it all along. Isabel Marant is a true genius, and her Fall/Winter 2012 collection has given me even that much more justification. It is every girls dream collection. Frilly and feminine, yet edgy with a Western twist. I love the silk and lace dresses, as well as the Western tops and leopard jacket. The collection is totally carefree. I know this collection will not only get high grades in my book, but in all books. Every silhouette is executed to perfection. The brand itself is in “expansion mode” according to Women’s Wear Daily. Marant plans to open 6 new boutiques worldwide. I think it’s great, except I hope it is not too much too soon. I pray that the collection never becomes mainstream and always stays stylish. Hey, the woman herself looked pretty chic après show.
Isabel Marant kills it this spring in the shoe department. With the recent warm weather, I can’t help but think about sandals. These wedges are all perfect. My personal favorite is the middle style. Unfortunately these “Zora” leather lacquered wedge sandals are $710. I’m dreaming. But will probably, eventually, break the bank on one of these in the up coming months. They’re just too good to be true. Vanessa Bruno’s mini lune purse is great accompaniment. I love these little bags in such great colors. And the price point is far more favorable than the above footwear. They are $331 and available on La Garçonne. P.S. The strap is removable! Bruno & Marant, I can’t wait to see your fall/winter 2012 ready-to-wear collections.
Either get it for your sweetie, or get it for yourself. Dominique Ansel Bakery on Spring Street between Sullivan and Thompson is the best. All that you see above exists. You’re wondering what the mysterious goodie is in the middle? It is a “Perfect Little Egg Sandwich.” Aka a small brioche with creamy scrambled eggs and gruyere. The “Gâteau Battu” on the left is almost like a popover (amazing) and on the right is chocolate croissant, of course. Go there now. And for the garments. I love red anytime. From the top left: Marc by Marc Jacobs Tote $530, A.P.C. Gingham Sailor Top $235, Miu Miu Leather Brogues $510. Bottom from the left: Alexander Wang Crepe de Chine Dress $450, Stella McCartney Wool Jumpsuit $1,245, Isabel Marant Drop Earrings $95 & Alexander Wang Trimmed Glossed Jacket $745. All SO good.
I have had a serious thing for shoes lately. This pre-spring and spring I am all about heeled ankle boots and sneakers. Super versatile and will even work through the summer. Here are my choices. From the top photo down: Isabel Marant Dicker Boots $580, Maison Martin Margiela Brushed-Suede Boots $955, A.P.C. Classic Boots $530 & Acne Pistol Boots $570. And for the sneaks (bottom): Alexander Wang Dillon Sneakers $385, Isabel Marant Betty Leather Sneakers $680, Chloé Leather Trimmed Sneaker $545 & Lanvin Suede and Shearling Sneaker $650.
