All About the Classics {coach’s old styles & kate spade originals}

I am all about classic purses at the moment. With the increasing prices of ritzy designer bags, I am over even thinking about $2,000 bags. Kate Spade & Coach provide fantastic alternatives. All bags are under $500 and are dope. The backpack above is my favorite Kate Spade pick. The nylon is versatile and durable. But I personally prefer the Coach Classics. They are suuuuuper sick. The bucket bag in navy leather is too good. Check out their website and order them up.

My Picks for the Summer {guest post for wink nyc: aka my favorite accessories the warm weather}

Anyone who is anyone knows that Wink is the spot for chic accessories at any time of the year. But I have found some fantastic pieces for this Summer. You must visit or visit a store to see for yourselves, but I’ll indulge ya’ll for un petit preview (yes I am still in Paris, updates on APC tomorrow).

Simple tribal accents truly make a look. I am a huge fan of Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow collection. The piece on the far left and the piece on the far right are both by House of Harlow and I love them to death. The price point is also very favorable. Who doesn’t love a sexy embellished cuff, and a over the top ring. The “Dawn” ILUCK bracelet is another great option. Great for layering.

For a more modest look, check out this Rebecca Minkoff crocheted piece. I am a huge fan. One of the best Minkoff pieces I have seen to date. I love the preppy simplicity of the crochet, and the harsh metal chain. These feather inspired earrings are equally amazing. The peacock feather embellishment is a light touch on the ear, but well done. Good job Wink. I will be visiting as soon as I am back in the States. Now, that is for sure.

No Prada for Barneys?

Apparently Barneys has dropped all Prada merchandise, except menswear and shoes, for the Spring! A source within Barneys says that this is due to a problem with leasing. Prada wanted to lease their space, but Barneys doesn’t do that. The Prada handbags section will be succeeded by Valextra, a Barneys exclusive handbag line. Here is the official statement from a Barneys spokesperson. “Prada has been and continues to be an important vendor for Barneys New York. We will continue to carry footwear for both Men and Women as well as Mens Ready to Wear. Prada’s exit in the categories of Women’s leather goods and Women’s Ready to Wear was planned prior to Mark Lee’s arrival as CEO of Barneys and stemmed from the unwillingness of Barneys to consider leased departments. Barneys stands by the no vendor leased space still today enabling us to retain our point of view in our stores.”

I Love Vanessa Bruno Bags.

Okay, I do love Vanessa Bruno everything, but her accessories are the absolute best.While her sequin embellished totes and miscellaneous accessories have been around for a few years now, something has to be said for the fact that we still love them. Her sequin embellished canvas laptop case is so adorable, and I am also a huge fan of this laser cut leather tote (shown above). Pair it with a pair of skinnies and wedges and you are good to go. It is slim pickings to find Vanessa Bruno via E-commerce, but Netaporter has a pretty solid selection.

Considering Blowing All Of My Money On…

This 3.1 Phillip Lim Edie bow-embellished bag. I am actually obsessed. It is the perfect size: and I love the girly embellishments. The bag comes in three colors: black leather, grey suede and purple velvet. I love the over the shoulder touch, with the leather studded top handle. It is available on Shopbop & Netaporter at $695.00. Considering the price of designer bags now-a-days, it is not that bad, but still pricey. Don’t be surprised if I am broke within the next few days.

Lulu’s (kind of) VDay Gift to US!

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, H&M will be releasing a collection of themed items. The most exciting of these items is a Lulu Guinness inspired “Lips Clutch”. While the bag is not a collaboration with Lulu, it looks exactly the same. Lulu’s retails for $350 and I am sure H&M’s will be available for a steal.

Sneak Peek: Zoe’s Collection

Breaking news: Zoe styles her upcoming collection for WWD! Very exciting. Her collection will feature outer wear, shoes and handbags! Prices will range from $250-$700 (for a full tuxedo look). Zoe comments on her line “I’d imagine everybody is expecting something from me that’s kind of a Seventies, uberboho-glam kind of thing, and, you know, very accessorized. And it’s not.” Hmm. Interesting! She has also commented that she envisions her line on racks next to Wang & Marc by Marc. I have a feeling I’m going to like this one.
