Quite possibly the best event of the year. Colette, the coolest concept store in Paris on Rue Saint-Honoré, is hosting a free carnival this weekend in the Tuileries Gardens. It’s going to be awesome. There will be a 43,000 square foot carnival tent with booths from Colette’s favorites: an Edith A. Miller kissing booth, a Carhartt shooting range, a Nike basketball court and even a Repetto led ballet class (plus more). Of course A.P.C. will be there and sponsoring too. I am so jealous of any and everyone that gets to attend this fantastic event. It is not to be missed. Can’t wait to see follow up coverage and photographs. What could be wrong with a Colette sponsored carnival in the Tuileries? Absolutely noting.
All time favorite collection thus far at fashion week (Milan, New York & London included), the Peter Copping “Nina Ricci” show. Copping mixed prints, furs and textures. He put glasses on the runway with funky boots. This collection is fantastic. It is contemporary with a feminine flair. Not to mention it is extremely wearable. I love the simplistic straight hair with the minimalist makeup. The red lipstick stands out in a very big and great way. Still awaiting the Isabel collection (TOMORROW).
In addition, I have been keeping a separate “Word by Jessie: Grub Edition” blog for my journalism class, but thought it might be of interest. Check it out: http://wordbyjessiegrub.wordpress.com/
Remember the fabulous Jonathan Adler and Parisian pieces above? Definitely salvaged these ones from my dorm uptown for my new apartment downtown. I absolutely love the deco style of his kitchen ware and desk accessories. The Parisian towels and bathmat could not look cuter in my bathroom. Now for the new stuff. Design Within Reach was my go to. The Twilight sleeper is the perfect combination between a great looking couch and a comfortable bed. The Setu chair and Blu Dot desk are modern and fabulous. The Cognita storage bench is just awesome. So happy to see everything coming together! The process has been so fun too.
Finnnnally made it to Miss Lily’s this afternoon for Brunch. Could not be more excited that this place is literally down my block, it’s so authentic and so good. Their jerk chicken was right on. In other words, time to go back to school! While my start date is earlier than most in the city, I start classes again on Tuesday. I definitely need a backpack this semester to “commute” uptown. Here are a few options. Most are not durable for school but cute just the same. From the top left: Rag & Bone, Fjallraven, Christopher Shannon x Eastpak, Alexander Wang, The Row & Incase. All make for different purposes.
Yes, the collaboration has been around for several months, but it is only getting better. Incase, the queen and king of collaborations, have used famous Andy Warhol graphics to create this fantastic collection for all of your Mac goodies. The iPhone cases come in a number of various Warhol prints on their snap cases. I am most excited about their book jacket for the iPad. It’s the perfect way to protect your iPad from scratches and dirt, it encloses it like a book. Of course the incase Warhol collection offers computer sleeves for nearly all MacBook computers. They even have a super dope messenger bag. Their protects are awesome and last forever. Check out this collab on goincase.com, you won’t be disappointed.
