What a wonderful vacation. I returned to New York City yesterday after my much anticipated family vacation to Saint John in the US Virgin Islands. The weather was beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious. Already back to the normal routine, but still reminiscing of this great trip. One of the (definite) highlights was dining at The Fatty Crab. We enjoyed brunch and TWO dinners there. So you know it was good. Menu is listed below. We tried basically everything. The “Yellow Curry Chicken” was among the favorites. Apparently it’s on the menu at the West Village location. See ya there!
In only a few short weeks I will be heading to St. John in the USVI for a little family vacation. I could not be more excited. As the trip draws closer, I am beginning to nail down my beach and travel essentials. This summer I am totally hooked up with the goods. First, my Celine sunglasses, as previously discussed in a former post. They are polarized and perfect for the beach. Not to mention the fabulous color. Second, my beautiful new all white one piece. I love one pieces this season. They are subtle and pretty sexy (if I do say so myself). Third, the amazing A.P.C. cheetah printed beach bag. The carry all, which I recently purchased at our (now finished) sale. Fourth, gold Porselli ballet flats. Simple and great for dinners out with the fam. And finally, Rebecca Taylor sundresses! They are cool and cute. I think I’m almost set. I can’t wait.
I have finally obtained the ideal Celine sunglasses. They are beyond beautiful. I am truly obsessed. I needed a suitable replacement for my (excuse my French) beat to shit Ray Ban sunglasses. Indeed, it was time to upgrade. Not only do my new sunnies have green polarized frames, but they are the most gorgeous navy blue. An added plus: they fit my pin sized head. Won’t tell you how I found them for a steal, but either way, they are my new summer staple.
Everyone’s favorite summer event has (nearly) arrived. The A.P.C. summer sale begins June 7 (a.k.a. tomorrow). What does this fabulous sale consist of? Pretty much the entire store at 30% or 50% off. No, the raw denim, quilts, pre-fall and all other off-collection pieces are not included. BUT! All pre-spring, spring and summer items (with only few exceptions) are. The sale will be available online, at the Mercer store and at the West Fourth store. Don’t wait around, get to your local A.P.C. as soon as possible. The doors open tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. Sizes are limited, so don’t miss out. My pick? The yellow zip-up cowboy boots. I’ve been waiting for these babies all season! Tomorrow, they will be mine.
New York Times T names Tooshie + A.P.C. bathing suits “The Get” and they are absolutely right. These adorable bathing suits are too good. The two fantastic brands teamed up to make an 11 piece capsule collection. They feature one piece & two piece suits for women and swim trunks & speedos for men. Superly designed and perfect. Get your hands on them before it is too late. They are available at apc.fr
Cheers to over a year of providing “fab facts for fab people!” I, the self proclaimed “blogger and fashion fiend,” felt it necessary to celebrate. Word by Jessie has had a pretty great year. The blog started in September 2010 and continues to grow. Miss. Word was featured in Seventeen Magazine as a blogger & model in their July Issue and will be featured again in their special “Prom” issue. Two2 prom dresses under $100 were styled and then modeled by Miss. Word by Jessie has made guest appearances on Fashables and Wink’s blog. She’s one of Brandy Melville’s “Things We Love.” In addition, Word by Jessie herself spent a month interning in the beautiful city of Paris while interning at APC. She then interned some more at Diane von Furstenberg & Cynthia Steffe. Stopping here, but it’s been pretty great. Keep reading, Love y’all!
As Summer comes to a close, I wanted to tell y’all what I’ve been using while beaching and pooling this Summer. It helped that Garance Doré did a fabulous post exposing hers and I felt the need to copy. The list isn’t very extensive, just need those simple, yet key pieces. Mine include: Bobbi Brown beach lotion, Dr. Dre white beats headphones (yeah, I look like a huge tool when I wear them), Ray Ban Jackie Ohh sunglasses, my white iPhone & my Swildens tote. Also, sorry for the hiatus in posting, I have been relaxing at the beach and getting ready for college. You will be hearing more from me in the coming days.
