Happy 2018 all. After a short but also very long and fulfilling 4 and a half years – I’m back. Since you last heard from me I graduated from Barnard, moved to Paris, did a bunch of castings and photo shoots for A.P.C., and now I’m sourcing fabric for the men’s collection at The Kooples. I’m still me, that fashion and food lover, but I’ve cultivated so many other passions that I just can’t wait to share with y’all. Cliché as it may sound, it’s 2018 and I’m back. Stay tuned, cause I have tons of little (and very big) surprises up my sleeve.
Everyone’s favorite summer event has (nearly) arrived. The A.P.C. summer sale begins June 7 (a.k.a. tomorrow). What does this fabulous sale consist of? Pretty much the entire store at 30% or 50% off. No, the raw denim, quilts, pre-fall and all other off-collection pieces are not included. BUT! All pre-spring, spring and summer items (with only few exceptions) are. The sale will be available online, at the Mercer store and at the West Fourth store. Don’t wait around, get to your local A.P.C. as soon as possible. The doors open tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. Sizes are limited, so don’t miss out. My pick? The yellow zip-up cowboy boots. I’ve been waiting for these babies all season! Tomorrow, they will be mine.
Punks facing off jocks? Apparently this was the voice behind Thom Browne’s Fall 2012 Menswear collection. You gotta hand it to him for always pulling out all the best tricks and creating truly original collections. This is the way fashion shows are supposed to be: shows. I give Browne many props. In a completely different sense, I loved Kenzo’s first Menswear collection. It was good. The French “RATP” car as a backdrop set the stage for a super cool show. While following a total Kenzo aesthetic, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim commenced their Menswear sector with a bang. Check it ooooout.
Finnnnally made it to Miss Lily’s this afternoon for Brunch. Could not be more excited that this place is literally down my block, it’s so authentic and so good. Their jerk chicken was right on. In other words, time to go back to school! While my start date is earlier than most in the city, I start classes again on Tuesday. I definitely need a backpack this semester to “commute” uptown. Here are a few options. Most are not durable for school but cute just the same. From the top left: Rag & Bone, Fjallraven, Christopher Shannon x Eastpak, Alexander Wang, The Row & Incase. All make for different purposes.
There are some exciting things coming up in the near future that I am very excited about! First up is my photo shoot at Seventeen on Wednesday. I have styled looks using their prom garb. I wonder which one they will choose! Then, we have the much anticipated Spring/Summer 2012 Isabel Marant show. Y’all know I can NOT wait for it. Teen Vogue Fashion University in late October and is another fabulous thing on the agenda. I can’t wait to hear all of my fashion mentors speak, in the same room. It is an incredible opportunity. Last but certainly not least, PARIS. In November. Hope everyone enjoyed my little update (;
A little whimsical girly wear, the missing piece from New York Fashion Week. Thank you 3.1 Phillip Lim for showing a collection that accomplished fem with flying colors. On the other hand, Marc Jacobs was BEYOND disappointing. The collection lacked cohesion and vision. Marc wants to see how far he can take fashion while keeping his kool aid in high demand. Sorry Mr. Jacobs, I’m giving it up.
