So, 4+ long years have past, and I must admit a lot has changed. Previously a die hard New Yorker, I am now almost Parisian (I’ve already been here for 3 years). While I was a pretty big yogi in New York, I now practice nearly daily. I am also both fascinated and kind of obsessed with health and wellbeing. This may or may not give you a small idea of what surprises are to come your way on Word, but that being said, I am still a fashion loving foodie. So nooooo worries. You’ll still get the hookup.
In the spirit of this new healthy thing – I want to talk a little bit about a place close to my home and heart. Bob’s Juice Bar. This place is basically a dream come true for Americans turned Frenchies, and/or Frenchies who like American things. It is the only place in Paris you can find a real bagel (if you have another spot and want to challenge me, I dare you). It’s also one of the few places you can find overnight oats that actually taste really really good (and are pretty addicting), gluten free muffins that are delicious and warm, yummy vegan stews. Let’s just say I highly suggest this spot. It really rocks. For more info – http://www.bobsjuicebar.com/
Everyone’s favorite summer event has (nearly) arrived. The A.P.C. summer sale begins June 7 (a.k.a. tomorrow). What does this fabulous sale consist of? Pretty much the entire store at 30% or 50% off. No, the raw denim, quilts, pre-fall and all other off-collection pieces are not included. BUT! All pre-spring, spring and summer items (with only few exceptions) are. The sale will be available online, at the Mercer store and at the West Fourth store. Don’t wait around, get to your local A.P.C. as soon as possible. The doors open tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. Sizes are limited, so don’t miss out. My pick? The yellow zip-up cowboy boots. I’ve been waiting for these babies all season! Tomorrow, they will be mine.
These Isabel Marant dip dyed pieces are festive, bright and fun. The pants and shorts are a bit too much for me, but I absolutely love the sweatshirt and shirt dress. The colors are just minimal enough for a dip die. I ordered the dress from Netaporter and almost bought the sweatshirt at Bergdorfs yesterday. I’m obsessed. These pieces are really getting me in the spring/summer spirit. I’m also a huge fan of these scarves below. The gold silk one on the left is A.P.C., of course. The paisley print is a perfect pairing with the luxe gold silk. The Missoni headband is a true classic and a really great way to defeat the heat. While somewhat impractical, I love these Oscar de la Renta earrings. They are 24 k gold with colored enamel. All items are available on Netaporter. Scoop them up.
To be honest, I was most looking forward to the awesome food and bonding time with my family this Christmas. Work had been insane and I needed to relax. This Christmas was so much more than relaxing. Not only was there delicious food and great family, but there were dope gifts. I compiled a list of my favorites below. From the left: Isabel Marant t-shirt, Alexander Wang Fumo wristlet, Isabel Marant Dewar boot & the Warhol iPad case (which I have been lusting after).
I officially own a pair of APC jeans. If you don’t know about APC jeans, they are fabricated in raw denim and consist of a long long break in period. The jeans stretch at least one full size during the break in process. You shouldn’t wash your jeans, or at least not for 6 months (at the earliest). I’m getting educated in this department, but in the mean time, bear the break in process with me and pick up a pair.
I guess I couldn’t get enough of A.P.C., because I am joining their family once again! I couldn’t be more excited. Within the next two weeks I will begin working at their Mercer Street store. A.P.C. is the bomb, so y’all better come and visit me.
My first purchase in Paris. These fantastic Isabel Marant Pitt Jeans. Not only are they warm and comfortable, but the fit is absolutely perfect. Slouchy, distressed & tapered. So good. And for Marant, their price tag is not too hefty. As for what I want to buy. I could buy both the entire American Retro store and The Kooples store. Both such chic French street brands. The two Kooples tops below are necessities.
