As previously announced, I will be completing my YogaTeacher Training with YogaWorks this August in NYC with the fabulous Jenny Aurthur. Maybe you’re wondering why I chose YogaWorks? And what this fantastic studio is all about? You may also be interested to know a bit more about what training entails. Let’s go people!
For starters, YogaWorks has over 60 studios in USA including Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, San Francisco Bay area, and Washington D.C., with more to come. Their story started in India and YogaWorks in Santa Monica. Founders Maty Ezraty, Chuck Miller and Alan Finger wanted to share the gifts of yoga they learned during their training in India and opened their first studio on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. The studio attracted immediate fame and they started their yoga teacher training program in 1990. A signature YogaWorks class seeks to align your breath with fluid movement. Practices are customized to your practice via thoughtful sequencing throughout the duration of the class.
As for my training. I chose to train with them because they are most reputable of yoga studios in the world based on the quality of their teachers and their history. In a world where new yoga studios open everyday, I wanted a training that would take me back to the real fundamentals. One that would forever serve me, my practice (and potentially eventually students, who knows). Over the next few weeks you will hear me speaking about my new discoveries from the required reading material – Heart of Yoga, Yoga, Mind & Spirit, Light on Yoga and Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali. Sounds like serious stuff, but I am really siked about it. I am thrilled to be fully immersed in the interior world of yoga, one that I have been exploring exteriorly and in my own mind for over 6 years now. An even bigger plus, you will all be following me on my journey. Stay tuned.
