On my most recent trip to NYC, I paid a visit to MNDFL for a 30 minute Breath Meditation. Having only heard fabulous things about this meditation studio, I decided to give it a try. Let me say – it is a good thing I listen to my peers (at least from time to time). The meditation, space and overall atmosphere of MNDFL is fantastic, I left feeling pretty mindful.
The space is no tech, aka you must sit with YOURSELF even before the meditation. No cellphone or computer distractions are allowed once you have arrived and have put away your personal items. In their comfortable waiting area you have fresh water and tea at your disposition. As well as books and a lovely group of people. The session itself was beautifully guided. I found myself in a deep state of reflection after the meditation, which has followed me to my present moment (yes, right now). I greatly appreciated the Q&A session at the end. It gave me the opportunity to ask the questions that have been digging at me about meditation in general and talk with my fellow peers in the group. All this to say that if you are looking for a very simple, but very awesome place to meditate in NYC (or Brooklyn), please visit MNDFL. You will find more info on their website about their locations and schedule.
