Not long after I moved to Rue Lucien Sampaix in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, I noticed the opening of a new cozy little restaurant. The foodie that I am, I gave it a shot not long after their opening. Very quickly this restaurant turned into my cantine, whenever I had the means to dine out with my nearest and dearests. This completely homemade, family run oasis is likely one of my favorites in Paris and I am so excited to tell you a little bit more about them.
La Becane à Gaston? Why the name? Well before the restaurant opened, the big boss and his daughter had a catering company called none other than La Bécane. Gaston is the name of the father of this big boss. The restaurant was entirely remodelled by the family themselves. They work exclusively with the producers of their franco-italian products directly. They have tested these products at many fairs all over Europe to select only the best products on the market. The menu changes more than regularly and every experience is better than the next. I particularly love their pastas, octopus and their brunch special on the weekend. Fun side note – their bread comes from my favorite boulangerie in Paris (imported from the Marais – 54 rds + 134 rdt). All is I can say is this place is just the best. Go for a some love, real good food and the very special ambiance they have created. La Bécane à Gaston – 24, rue Lucien Sampaix, 75010
