Savage Beauty {the met gala (aka where it all began) & the alexander mcqueen show that was out of this world}

Words cannot describe this show. It was a euphoric experience of sorts. I can honestly say it was the most incredible show I have ever been to. The visual imagery and the utilization of videos and technology was out of this world. Please go see it as soon as you can. I strongly urge you arrive at the Met when it opens. I got to the exhibition at 10 am and it was jammed.

It was extremely fitting that the show commenced with such an extravagant Gala. The gowns were beautiful and risks were taken. But, why the hell not?

So exciting that we can rejoice in McQueen’s excellence as a designer. While he is greatly missed, his work will always be remembered. This is just a small preview of my favorite pieces at Savage Beauty. But you have to see the show to believe this utter greatness.

True beauty. McQueen I miss you.

The famous “Armadillo” shoe made several appearances in the show. Word on the street is that they can even be purchased at the Met. Wahoo.

The Metropolitan also had a fabulous selection of additional Alexander McQueen garb. Including his signature clutch, scarf & t-shirt.
