My obsession came to a head this past Friday when I suggested to a friend that we eat dinner at Cafe Gitane, after we had just eaten lunch there a few hours earlier. It’s just that good. Their menu is varied, yet everything is delicious. Nothing can compare to their roasted organic chicken sandwich. It has chipotle mayonnaise, roasted tomatoes and parmesan on a toasted baguette… let’s get for real. Their avocado toast (with lemon juice, chili flakes and olive oil) is famous for a reason. You will not run out of options of food or fun at this spot. Great for people watching too. I’ve seen a number of celebutantes at both their Jane Hotel and Nolita locations. Check it out, you won’t regret it.
